when it comes to steam and you buy it here will you get a key to get it for steam or not??

no ig

Looking at their statements on the homepage, it seems very likely you'll get a key for Steam when/if it comes to Steam.

However, they've publically said its not going on Steam for now, they have enough money, and they dont feel the cut taken by Steam is worth the publicity.

thanks👌

Wish I wasn't legitimately poor af otherwise I'd buy it so I can stream building a massive Castle I already have the blueprint that I used to build said Castle in 7 days to die big sad well eventually I'll probably save up enough to get it

I love having a job and being able to afford micro transactions. Seriously. Capitalism sure is amazing! Not sarcasm btw if you need me to buy it for you I probably can.

IF you message me a 9,500 word essay on why you think this video game will benefit you. I will check for ai bitches so don't pull that. And it has to make sense! No stupid blibber blabber!

If I receive a good essay, I put it on god I will buy you the game.

Vintage Story won’t be on Steam for a long time (if ever).

Just curious, why does it matter to you if a game needs to be bought outside of Steam or not?

(+2)(-3)

Well, to me it's WAY easier to pay via Steam when compared to itch.io and even 99% of other platforms. I know most people *probably* bought Vintage Story with credit card or other online payment methods, but I don't have that privilege.

(-7)

How did you get it on steam?

(+1)

I feel that. Don't have a credit card or that stuff either. At least Steam allows you to use your banking app directly.

Better yet, there's a website in my country that sells Steam gift cards, which can be paid through 7-11 i-bon with a given serial code.

That's how I got over 100 games in the last 10 years on Steam.

Apparently you can use IDEAL if it's supported in your country on their website.

(+2)(-1)

I want to get it but is it worth the money

(+1)(-2)

im a console player i wasn't f ing around when i said in YouTubers video i was planning on getting a pc in reality i stopped uploading Because vintage story don't tell my YouTube community that lizard or Andrew stopped uploading

(+1)(-2)

i wold buy it but im to poor lol XD

(+2)

i cant log in the game i dont get it

This game is very frustrating to learn how to play. Consider playing in Exploration mode to reduce the early game torture. Once you get past its initial hurdles it becomes much more fun and interesting. Pro tip: Have a lot of torches so when one goes out you can relight it with the others. Also, throw spears at rabbits, that is how food until you can build a farm and/or ranch.

my issue is winter. it make stuff really annoying, if u join a server and its winter your pretty much better off afking n waiting still its not

June 5th: Don't buy this game. I'm a big arsonist and the fire is just plain bad. Combat is terrible. Everything has a way of disappointing you that's for sure and it's not my cup of tea. Could be sweet to your tooth though, I don't know. I really wanted to not hate this game but it's kind of hard not to. I'm warning you though, don't buy it.

June 7th: Ok so I tried it again and honestly this game is a piece of art. I don't know what kind of fucking period I was on last time give it a go please.

June 12th: Seven hours in now. Got my first anvil. I am looking forward to what's ahead of me in this game. Thank you devs, you have truly amazed me with this one.

June 21st: my birthday lmao... and im still playing this game. If that doesnt say alot, I dont know what will. I just can't get over the beauty this game offers. I'm around 25 hours in, still in the copper age lmao. Don't give a fuck cus I still have fun anyways.

redemption arc

I just bought the Game 3 Days ago and allready have 24 hours in my World.
I am HOOKED!

It scratches the same itch as RL-Craft or simmilar Minecraft Modpacks,
but this ist it's very own game, build from the ground up for this exact purpose.
Instead of Removing or Complicating existing Mechanics like Minecraft Modpacks, Vintage Story is build around this slower progression.

Crafting is not confined to one Item per slot, sometimes requiering 2 or 3, greatly increasing the Options for placement.
The inbuilt Guide allows you to quickly read up on recepies and game mechanics, making up for the increase in complexity.

And the Clayforming and Smithing are a wonderfull way to craft your gear, allowing for the experience of the Player to quicken or even improve the process, withot resorting to quicktime events.

This game is worth more than its asking price and if you love the Open-World-Survival-Craft genre, it is a Must Play.

10/10 - would die to the Bear again.

(+9)

I adore this game :3

And for those people who say that Vintage Story is a Minecraft ripoff, I have two things to say.

  1. No, it is not. Vintage Story is a block game, yes, but it is SO much more in depth.
  2. By the logic of “X existed before Y, therefore Y must be a ripoff of X”, Minecraft is a ripoff of Infiniminer.

Have a nice day, reader.

(+3)

Your argumentation is on point. 10/10.

Holy based

I just bought the game, and when I click on the button to get the key it says "Your purchase comes with a download key!" and gives me an url, when I go to the site it makes me create an account but I have this error, i didn't create any account and it's not working for me.

(+2)(-2)

If you bought the game on itch.io you only need to make one account by clicking on the game key, as it is a link. See top paragraph on how to obtain the key

(+1)

i bought the game and clicked "get steam key" tried to activate it on the vintage story site and it claims its used yet i cant login nor create an account

(1 edit) (+1)

the steam key thing was a mistake of min and itch.io has not yet responded in remedying the situation, you should be able to also redeem another key there.

(+10)

This comment section is so brain dead it hurts.

Stop calling this a Minecraft clone or "just minecraft with shaders and mods" because that's as accurate as calling a Battlefield game "just doom but multiplayer" or calling an apple a clone of a slice of bread since they're both edible. It disheartening to me that people have this low of a comprehension of the fact that things can seem vaguely similar while being different.

(+4)

very "guy who's only played minecraft before" of them to play a different survival game and go "this is LITERALLY just like minecraft except heavily modified and with completely different art direction!!!!1!!1"

(+1)

Let's just say it's a "stereotype" situation, people see giant voxel blocks and they go "MINECRAFT!!"

I don't think that's gonna change any time soon...

(-1)

cuz its a joke lol
