Hi, I'm new to the game but in my experience it definitely DOES NOT end in about an hour. I'm five hours into my game world and I feel I've barely scratched the surface :)
This game has more than 100+ hours of content easily, and its a sandbox survival so there is a near infinite amount of things to do. I would definitely recommend buying it
Yea, the eldritch horror is definitely a bit of a change of pace to the rest of the game, but gives you a reason to be wary and to make weapons and armour. It means you have something to truly fear and to encourage progression. It’s also something you can disable either temporarily or permanently for each world if you want
"After purchase, please redeem your key on the itch.io "My Purchase" page - it is a link that lets you create a game account to log in to the game." is what the maker said.
I used to play this game on a laptop with an i5-5200U and 8 GB DDR3 RAM. I had linux on it so I actually could play at low to medium-ish settings at a pretty stable 30 FPS.
Looking at their statements on the homepage, it seems very likely you'll get a key for Steam when/if it comes to Steam.
However, they've publically said its not going on Steam for now, they have enough money, and they dont feel the cut taken by Steam is worth the publicity.
Wish I wasn't legitimately poor af otherwise I'd buy it so I can stream building a massive Castle I already have the blueprint that I used to build said Castle in 7 days to die big sad well eventually I'll probably save up enough to get it
I love having a job and being able to afford micro transactions. Seriously. Capitalism sure is amazing! Not sarcasm btw if you need me to buy it for you I probably can.
IF you message me a 9,500 word essay on why you think this video game will benefit you. I will check for ai bitches so don't pull that. And it has to make sense! No stupid blibber blabber!
If I receive a good essay, I put it on god I will buy you the game.
Can I submit my research thesis instead? It's 10,000+ words and earned me a degree in psychology, but since I live in a third world country, I can't afford it rn. LOL
this video game would be so fun for me because of my life its boring idk what to do i only watch youtube or play some random games this game has everything i need you can literally explore everything you can cook build trade and u can even play this on mulitplayer what makes it more fun to play with friends the price is pretty good but i am broke its literally minecraft java and bedrock mixed with every modpack they have and that only for 30 bucks! thats a really good deal i love the artstyle too and the animations look fantastic and all the biomes in the game look really interesting they it just triggers something in me i think if i had this game i would have a better reason to live cause right now i feel empty just nothing boring i could just sleep all day but this game could change that right now i love the ambient sounds too it just makes me feel way more calm and yeah its not 9,500 words but this is all i can say have a great day!
question is where? there is no job posting in my local area, mainly cs its a thirdworld country and they dont do that here im my area, i could do online jobs, also dont know where to, bit of a stalemate for me
Well, to me it's WAY easier to pay via Steam when compared to itch.io and even 99% of other platforms. I know most people *probably* bought Vintage Story with credit card or other online payment methods, but I don't have that privilege.
im a console player i wasn't f ing around when i said in YouTubers video i was planning on getting a pc in reality i stopped uploading Because vintage story don't tell my YouTube community that lizard or Andrew stopped uploading
This game is very frustrating to learn how to play. Consider playing in Exploration mode to reduce the early game torture. Once you get past its initial hurdles it becomes much more fun and interesting. Pro tip: Have a lot of torches so when one goes out you can relight it with the others. Also, throw spears at rabbits, that is how food until you can build a farm and/or ranch.
June 5th: Don't buy this game. I'm a big arsonist and the fire is just plain bad. Combat is terrible. Everything has a way of disappointing you that's for sure and it's not my cup of tea. Could be sweet to your tooth though, I don't know. I really wanted to not hate this game but it's kind of hard not to. I'm warning you though, don't buy it.
June 7th: Ok so I tried it again and honestly this game is a piece of art. I don't know what kind of fucking period I was on last time give it a go please.
June 12th: Seven hours in now. Got my first anvil. I am looking forward to what's ahead of me in this game. Thank you devs, you have truly amazed me with this one.
June 21st: my birthday lmao... and im still playing this game. If that doesnt say alot, I dont know what will. I just can't get over the beauty this game offers. I'm around 25 hours in, still in the copper age lmao. Don't give a fuck cus I still have fun anyways.
I just bought the Game 3 Days ago and allready have 24 hours in my World. I am HOOKED!
It scratches the same itch as RL-Craft or simmilar Minecraft Modpacks, but this ist it's very own game, build from the ground up for this exact purpose. Instead of Removing or Complicating existing Mechanics like Minecraft Modpacks, Vintage Story is build around this slower progression.
Crafting is not confined to one Item per slot, sometimes requiering 2 or 3, greatly increasing the Options for placement. The inbuilt Guide allows you to quickly read up on recepies and game mechanics, making up for the increase in complexity.
And the Clayforming and Smithing are a wonderfull way to craft your gear, allowing for the experience of the Player to quicken or even improve the process, withot resorting to quicktime events.
This game is worth more than its asking price and if you love the Open-World-Survival-Craft genre, it is a Must Play.
I just bought the game, and when I click on the button to get the key it says "Your purchase comes with a download key!" and gives me an url, when I go to the site it makes me create an account but I have this error, i didn't create any account and it's not working for me.
If you bought the game on itch.io you only need to make one account by clicking on the game key, as it is a link. See top paragraph on how to obtain the key
i bought the game and clicked "get steam key" tried to activate it on the vintage story site and it claims its used yet i cant login nor create an account
the steam key thing was a mistake of min and itch.io has not yet responded in remedying the situation, you should be able to also redeem another key there.
Stop calling this a Minecraft clone or "just minecraft with shaders and mods" because that's as accurate as calling a Battlefield game "just doom but multiplayer" or calling an apple a clone of a slice of bread since they're both edible. It disheartening to me that people have this low of a comprehension of the fact that things can seem vaguely similar while being different.
very "guy who's only played minecraft before" of them to play a different survival game and go "this is LITERALLY just like minecraft except heavily modified and with completely different art direction!!!!1!!1"
Don't mind him he's probably a hater that doesn't wanna spend money, either that or he just makes the wrong conclusions after one problem, just ignore people like him you're only giving them attention.
Sorry about that, looks like that was my fault. This should no longer happen with new purchases now. Please request a refund or write us the key you got and we'll replace it (email address is on our impressum page)

Does anyone know if this game is coming to steam? If it does would i get a key for the game if i buy the itch version
Unlikely that it will. And if it does it will be a very long time.
Read the FAQ on the official site, they explain why

does this game really end in about an hour? I'm planning on buying this. if so, I wish it were more in depth and had more hours to play.

This game has more than 100+ hours of content easily, and its a sandbox survival so there is a near infinite amount of things to do. I would definitely recommend buying it
thank you! one more question, does it really have eldritch horror elements? like a minecraft mod?
Yea, the eldritch horror is definitely a bit of a change of pace to the rest of the game, but gives you a reason to be wary and to make weapons and armour. It means you have something to truly fear and to encourage progression. It’s also something you can disable either temporarily or permanently for each world if you want
The horror elements can be toned down or turned off if you wish, the options are there when creating a new world.
thank you for the info. do I need my Itch.io credentials to login? because I tried it and it didn't work?
"After purchase, please redeem your key on the itch.io "My Purchase" page - it is a link that lets you create a game account to log in to the game." is what the maker said.
which game engine use for this game? or this game used low level game engine
they made their own engine using OpenTK and C#
Does this game have DRM and if so what are it's restrictions?
Yes, you need an account to play, I think.
You need internet to log into your account, after which you can play offline for a while. I don't know exactly how long, I haven't checked it.
Quiero comprarlo
how good of a pc do i need to play this?

I used to play this game on a laptop with an i5-5200U and 8 GB DDR3 RAM. I had linux on it so I actually could play at low to medium-ish settings at a pretty stable 30 FPS.

Are you a solo dev and how long did it take to make, also how much money have you made so far, please be honest.

I love having a job and being able to afford micro transactions. Seriously. Capitalism sure is amazing! Not sarcasm btw if you need me to buy it for you I probably can.

Get a job.
bro i wish i could, theres basically no available jobs in my town unfortunately :(
There's always a job. You just don't want to look for one
question is where? there is no job posting in my local area, mainly cs its a thirdworld country and they dont do that here im my area, i could do online jobs, also dont know where to, bit of a stalemate for me
I will definitely buy this if it's on Steam, unfortunately it isn't.

Vintage Story won’t be on Steam for a long time (if ever).
Just curious, why does it matter to you if a game needs to be bought outside of Steam or not?
Well, to me it's WAY easier to pay via Steam when compared to itch.io and even 99% of other platforms. I know most people *probably* bought Vintage Story with credit card or other online payment methods, but I don't have that privilege.
How did you get it on steam?
I feel that. Don't have a credit card or that stuff either. At least Steam allows you to use your banking app directly.
Better yet, there's a website in my country that sells Steam gift cards, which can be paid through 7-11 i-bon with a given serial code.
That's how I got over 100 games in the last 10 years on Steam.
Apparently you can use IDEAL if it's supported in your country on their website.
for me, it is easier to play on steamdeck, i would even pay more for them (because steam has a cut right) to have on steam
I want to get it but is it worth the money
im a console player i wasn't f ing around when i said in YouTubers video i was planning on getting a pc in reality i stopped uploading Because vintage story don't tell my YouTube community that lizard or Andrew stopped uploading
i wold buy it but im to poor lol XD
i cant log in the game i dont get it

10/10 - would die to the Bear again.
I adore this game :3
And for those people who say that Vintage Story is a Minecraft ripoff, I have two things to say.
Have a nice day, reader.
Your argumentation is on point. 10/10.
Holy based

Let's just say it's a "stereotype" situation, people see giant voxel blocks and they go "MINECRAFT!!"
I don't think that's gonna change any time soon...
cuz its a joke lol
Hey, I need a steam key to create an account. But whenever I go to get a steam key it says "there are no steam keys available at this time."
You redeem the key on Vintage Story's website when making an account. It's not a steam key.
hi my log in wont work on the game or the client page, I've tried multiple times but i'm getting, failed! every time, can you help please.
minecraft looking game
It did start of as a mod for Minecraft before becoming so big, or that what's I heard.
Wow
worst game doesn't even work xd it's too expensive
Does it not work or could you not play it cause its too expensive?
Don't mind him he's probably a hater that doesn't wanna spend money, either that or he just makes the wrong conclusions after one problem, just ignore people like him you're only giving them attention.
